Educational and Social Interventions

Communication is the exchange of meanings between individuals through a common system of symbols. It is the process of using symbols to exchange meanings. By type, communication is verbal or nonverbal. Verbal communication refers to our use of words while nonverbal communication refers to communication that occurs through means other than words, such as body language, gestures, and silence. In verbal communication, the interchange of the message is very fast which leads to rapid feedback as opposed to non-verbal communication which is based more on understanding and takes time and is slower.
